School Field Trips

Students will experience a working homestead, and explore our chicken coop, smokehouse, garden area, fruit orchard, vineyard, bottle tree, cane mill, Bragg house, cabin barn, apiary, and miles of nature trails and the wildlife of the Alabama Black Belt region.

Students will meet important historical figures who played vital roles in the history of Alabama’s Black Belt. Each historical figure comes to life dressed in period clothing and telling their personal stories.

Note: Teachers are allowed to pick one of the living history figures for their field trip.

The cost of a field trip is $20 per student. It includes the all-day field trip and all activities. Please note all activities are outdoors and “hands-on”.
