Enjoy the Alabama Black Belt region’s hardwood bottoms, creeks and streams as we explore the vast diversity of birds and other wildlife in the historical area where Bragg Homestead 1828 is located.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with coffee and Southern pastries. The tour starts at 9:00a.m. and lasts until noon, and includes complimentary bottled water and snacks.

Back at the homestead, enjoy a lunch of Southern BBQ cooked in our pig pits and smokehouse while dining on the barn porch overlooking the big lake.

After lunch, explore the living history of Braggs Homestead 1828, with more than eight miles of nature trails, fish our lakes, or just relax with a glass of wine around one of our fire pits. Experience a working homestead, chicken coop, working smokehouse, garden area, fruit orchard, vineyard, bottle tree, cane mill, and our apiary. Then we are back to birding until dark.
